facebook announcement

A few months ago, we started working with Skype to bring video calling to Facebook,” Facebook announced on its blog. “We built it right into chat, so all your conversations start from the same place. To call your friend, just click the video call button at the top of your chat window.” Today Facebook will make an awesome announcement at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST). It's rumored to be a more in depth partnership with Skype, which will integrate. The tech world and beyond gathered yesterday for another big Facebook platform announcement. Our social network members support us throughout the year," said CMA Chief Executive Officer STEVE MOORE. "They are loyal to the CMA brand and our events. So, it is terrific when we can share exciting news with them first." The CMA AWARDS will air on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th at 8p (ET) on ABC-TV, live from the BRIDSTONE ARENA in NASHVILLE. The group chat feature will let users chat with multiple friends at onc...

nasa launch a shuttle

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA,) is an executive branch agency of the United States  government, responsible for the nation's civilian space program and aeronautics and aerospace research. Since  February 2006, NASA's self-described mission statement is to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. You might think of asteroids as isolated bodies tumbling alone through space, but it's entirely possible for these old  "loners" to have companions. Indeed, 19-mile-wide Ida, 90-mile-wide Pulcova, 103-mile-wide Kalliope, and  135-mile-wide Eugenia each have a moon. And 175-mile-wide Sylvia has two moons. Measuring 330 miles  across, Vesta is much larger than these other examples, so a "Vesta moon" is entirely possible. This could be a first step toward recapturing the humidity from our sweat, from our breath, even from our urine,  and recycling it and m...

chick fil a bidding customers

Chick-fil-A is bidding customers to don black-spotted scarves, hats, ties or any other accessories today for its 7th annual Cow Appreciation Day. In return, customers will receive a complimentary meal featuring an entree of their choice, a side item and a medium beverage. The day is a great way to usher in the weekend. You might think that only the most dedicated fan would go that far for a free sandwich, but last year they served more than 450,000 “cow-clad customers,” and they expect to top that this year. If you haven’t heard yet, Chick-Fil-A, the popular and extremely tasty fast-food chain restaurant is handing out free meals for the remainder of Friday with one small catch – You have to dress up as a bovine in honor of Cow Appreciation Day. While partial costumes – Cow hats, a cow nose, etc – will earn you a free entree of your choice, those brave enough to hoof it into the establishment in a head-to-toe cow costume will receive an entire free meal. According to the fast-food re...

SELENA HOT

It’s a Cinderella story that could only happen with a little help from the Hollywood production system. “Monte Carlo” was initially based on a novel called “Headhunters,” a story of four middle-aged Midwestern women on a jaunt through France. It’s now a tale of three Texas gals — one is 18 and the other two (played by Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester) are 21 — falling in love and getting in trouble on the Riviera. Selena Gomez has knocked boyfriend Justin Bieber off the top of Billboard's new Social 50 chart. The countdown ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social networking websites YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike. Buzz surrounding the release of her third album, "When the Sun Goes Down," and new movie Monte Carlo helped give Gomez the edge over Bieber. The 25-year-old actress continued to reveal that she enjoyed working with both Gomez and Katie Cassidy (also from Gossip Girl) on the romcom. And it turns out the ...

south sudan newest nation early today

South Sudan became the world's newest nation early today, officially breaking away from Sudan after two civil wars over five decades that cost the lives of millions. In the new country's capital, Juba, streets pulsed with excitement. Southern Sudan has been in a civil war with its northern counterpart, its second since Sudan became a nation, since the mid-1980s. The split has partly been along religious lines. North Sudan is mostly Muslim while those in the South are mostly Christian and Animist. South Sudan sought independence, in part, over its objections to being governed by Sharia law. South Sudan earned independence at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, the culmination of a January independence vote guaranteed in a 2005 peace deal that ended the most recent north-south war. Saturday's early morning celebrations were joyous for the freedom gained but tinged with the memories of family members lost. On Friday, last-minute preparations were being made for the deluge of high-p...

NAVY (USN) UNITED STATES

The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. The U.S. Navy is the largest in the world; its battle fleet tonnage is greater than that of the next 13 largest navies combined.[4] The U.S. Navy also has the world's largest carrier fleet, with 11 in service, one under construction (two planned), and one in reserve. With more sailors staying in the military amid a slumping economic recovery, the U.S. Navy is taking the unprecedented step of firing low-ranking petty officers to help rein in spending. In terms of military ecclesiastical power, this position makes him the Navy’s version of the Pope.  Rumors at the time whispered he was extremely liberal; and he didn’t waste time proving it.  Immediately after repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, RADM Tidd issued a directive to all naval chaplains: from now on, they would “be allowed” to perform same-sex marriages. ...

josh hamilton died,,,when he was trying to catch a foul ball

A tragic accident occurred Thursday in Arlington, Texas, where the Texas Rangers were playing the Oakland Athletics, when a 39-year-old fan fell to his death after trying to catch a foul ball thrown by Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton. Oh how things have changed in a single year for LeBron James. It's been 365 days since the infamous "Decision" and I'm not sure that time has heeled this particular wound. Still, in the grand scheme of things, you'd have to say James, the Heat, and the NBA don't regret "the Decision"...ESPN might. In one year, the Heat came within a few games of a championship, James shook off some of his critics (at least through the Eastern Conference Finals), and the NBA Finals received tremendous ratings. night died after Josh Hamilton tossed a foul ball to him in the second inning. Shannon Stone, a Brownwood, Texas, firefighter attending the game with his young son, was along the left field outfield wall and fell throu...
