Meteor shower tonight: Perseid meteor shower August 13 to be spectacular. The Perseid meteor shower of 2011 peaks in the early morning hours of Saturday August 13th before dawn. It means getting up before the earliest bird, when it is quite dark.

According to earthsky.org, the best viewing time will be from about 2 a.m. until dawn, when the moon is low in the south to southwest sky (as seen from mid-northern latitudes).
The International Space Station will be making a series of early morning flybys over the U.S. throughout this week and into the weekend, NASA officials said. The massive orbiting complex shines bright enough that its visibility in the sky is not drowned out by moonlight or city lights.
