Thailand Election 2011

The results of the election are clear. According to

Thailand’s Election Commission, as reported by AP, Pheu

Thai will likely end up with approximately 260 seats

in Parliament, enough to ensure a majority and form a government.

Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva gestures to media prior to leaving Government House in Bangkok on

May 9. Thailand's general election will be held on July 3 after the king endorsed a royal decree to dissolve the
lower house, the government spokesman said.

9:20 p.m. Will end live blog post now and revert to individual posts with analysis of the result. 8:50 p.m. So

Puea Thai 257 + Chart Thai Pattana 20 + Chart Pattana Puea Paendin 9 . BP:  This is around 290 and then

maybe Palangchon we are closer to 300…. 8:45 p.m. Wayne Hay of.

But as Thailand heads toward a national election this weekend, Thaksin looks set to get a new lease on his

political life. The Pheu Thai party, which he controls from Dubai, is poised to defeat incumbent Prime Minister

Abhisit Vejjajiva and his Democrat Party. And the person he can thank for that turnaround is the woman

The prospect of a Pheu Thai victory has heightened concerns of post-election violence that has led investors

to sell Thai stocks and the currency over the past month. Victories by Thaksin-backed parties in the last three

elections, achieved with support from voters in the poorer north and northeast, have been overturned by the

army and the courts.

ellie goulding singing at the Royal Wedding

In a recent interview to Standard Magazine singer Ellie Goulding talks about her encounter to the royal couple and how they invited her to sing at their wedding. The forces aligned neatly in May for this episode: Osama bin Laden's death had been announced five days earlier; the show started strong with Fred Armisen as bin Laden and later had Jason Sudeikis as Satan, I've had my real rock'n'roll phase and I don't want to go back to it because I wasn't in a good place then.  I didn't realise where I was heading. And I didn't realise I'd end up here.' In 2011 she will take on her first American tour after the American release of Bright Lights and see the release of her collaboration with Tinie Tempah when his single “Wonderman” is released. And that's my dark side, I suppose, and I have to accept it will never fully leave me. The 24-year-old singer was introduced to the couple in May 2010 after her performance at the Radio 1'...

Bollywood Actress Sonakshi Angers Pakistani Fans

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha annoyed some of her fans from Pakistan when she tweeted a morphed picture of Shahid Afridi getting whacked by an Indian batsman just before the India-Pakistan semi final match on Wednesday. The actress added a caption as well: 'De ghumaaaaake! Hehehehahahaha.' But the Dabangg girl did not imagine that her little joke would irritate fans. Her fans started tweeting back, telling her to be a goodwill ambassador between the two countries and learn a few things from Salman Khan. Some of them even unfollowed her on twitter. Sonakshi soon realised the intensity of her tweet and calmed her fans down by asking them to be a sport, and that she was just joking. She then deleted the picture from her twitter account. 'Pak fans very upset. jung ke maidan mein ladne se toh accha hi hai khel ke maidan mein ladein! I am all for love thy neighbour. Be a sport yaar,' she tweeted.

josh hamilton died,,,when he was trying to catch a foul ball

A tragic accident occurred Thursday in Arlington, Texas, where the Texas Rangers were playing the Oakland Athletics, when a 39-year-old fan fell to his death after trying to catch a foul ball thrown by Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton. Oh how things have changed in a single year for LeBron James. It's been 365 days since the infamous "Decision" and I'm not sure that time has heeled this particular wound. Still, in the grand scheme of things, you'd have to say James, the Heat, and the NBA don't regret "the Decision"...ESPN might. In one year, the Heat came within a few games of a championship, James shook off some of his critics (at least through the Eastern Conference Finals), and the NBA Finals received tremendous ratings. night died after Josh Hamilton tossed a foul ball to him in the second inning. Shannon Stone, a Brownwood, Texas, firefighter attending the game with his young son, was along the left field outfield wall and fell throu...
