7-Eleven is part of an international chain of convenience stores, operating under Seven-Eleven Japan Co. Ltd, which in turn is owned by Seven & I Holdings Co. of Japan.

7-Eleven, primarily operating as a franchise, is the world's largest operator, franchisor and licensor of convenience stores, with more than 39,000 outlets, surpassing the previous record-holder McDonald's Corporation in 2007 by approximately 1,000 retail stores.

Notice the date? It's July 11, or 7-11, and 7-Eleven, the nation's most prolific convenience-store chain, is giving away free 7.11-ounce size Slurpees all day until midnight at participating stores throughout Colorado.

Summer just isn't summer unless you're chugging on a big, frozen, sugary drink and staining your teeth electric red or blue. Fortunately, today is July 11, also known as 7-Eleven-Day, the convenience retailer's unofficial birthday. And to celebrate, participating stores throughout the city will be giving away free Slurpees!

Since then, the small ice company has grow into a chain of 8,600 7-Eleven stores in North America and 41,500 stores worldwide, according to a company history.

Today, participating 7-Eleven stores plan to serve up 5 million free 7.11-ounce Slurpees across the country.

It’s that time of the year again! You can get a free 7.11oz Slurpee at 7-Eleven stores today in honor of their birthday.

This offer is only valid today only (7/11) so don’t miss out on getting your free slurpee!

Enjoy!
I started working at 9 a.m. and there’s been at least 30 to 40 people already,” said 7-Eleven clerk Carol Goik. “We’ll probably have around 500 people stop in by the end of the day.”

Rain didn’t stop Kelly Brown and her five children, Kaitlin, Cody, David, Austin and Michael, from stopping by.

“The kids remind me about it all year,” said Kelly Brown. “We happen to be in Bay City today passing through, so all the kids wanted to come inside to get a Slurpee.”

ellie goulding singing at the Royal Wedding

In a recent interview to Standard Magazine singer Ellie Goulding talks about her encounter to the royal couple and how they invited her to sing at their wedding. The forces aligned neatly in May for this episode: Osama bin Laden's death had been announced five days earlier; the show started strong with Fred Armisen as bin Laden and later had Jason Sudeikis as Satan, I've had my real rock'n'roll phase and I don't want to go back to it because I wasn't in a good place then.  I didn't realise where I was heading. And I didn't realise I'd end up here.' In 2011 she will take on her first American tour after the American release of Bright Lights and see the release of her collaboration with Tinie Tempah when his single “Wonderman” is released. And that's my dark side, I suppose, and I have to accept it will never fully leave me. The 24-year-old singer was introduced to the couple in May 2010 after her performance at the Radio 1'...

Bollywood Actress Sonakshi Angers Pakistani Fans

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha annoyed some of her fans from Pakistan when she tweeted a morphed picture of Shahid Afridi getting whacked by an Indian batsman just before the India-Pakistan semi final match on Wednesday. The actress added a caption as well: 'De ghumaaaaake! Hehehehahahaha.' But the Dabangg girl did not imagine that her little joke would irritate fans. Her fans started tweeting back, telling her to be a goodwill ambassador between the two countries and learn a few things from Salman Khan. Some of them even unfollowed her on twitter. Sonakshi soon realised the intensity of her tweet and calmed her fans down by asking them to be a sport, and that she was just joking. She then deleted the picture from her twitter account. 'Pak fans very upset. jung ke maidan mein ladne se toh accha hi hai khel ke maidan mein ladein! I am all for love thy neighbour. Be a sport yaar,' she tweeted.

josh hamilton died,,,when he was trying to catch a foul ball

A tragic accident occurred Thursday in Arlington, Texas, where the Texas Rangers were playing the Oakland Athletics, when a 39-year-old fan fell to his death after trying to catch a foul ball thrown by Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton. Oh how things have changed in a single year for LeBron James. It's been 365 days since the infamous "Decision" and I'm not sure that time has heeled this particular wound. Still, in the grand scheme of things, you'd have to say James, the Heat, and the NBA don't regret "the Decision"...ESPN might. In one year, the Heat came within a few games of a championship, James shook off some of his critics (at least through the Eastern Conference Finals), and the NBA Finals received tremendous ratings. night died after Josh Hamilton tossed a foul ball to him in the second inning. Shannon Stone, a Brownwood, Texas, firefighter attending the game with his young son, was along the left field outfield wall and fell throu...
