Apple, Google and Microsoft in the fight for the digital living room

Analyst Mejhard Mind (Maynard Um) from company UBS Investment Research published yesterday regular analytical note to investors. He considered the race for the creation and promotion systems, encapsulating the name “digital living room”.
Mind describes the digital living room “as a system that offers the opportunity to gain access to content from anywhere on the planet.” In his view, such a system is the next step in the evolution of the entertainment industry and the “Holy Grail” for cloud systems “to any type of content with various devices, and at any time.
According to analyst, competition in this segment is in “early stage”. However, some key players such as Apple, Google and Microsoft. As dark horses are bred “are companies such as Amazon, Samsung and Sony. As far as HP, Nokia, Research in Motion as major players in this sector considered not worth it.
According to the report, the clear winner in this race is the Apple, which boasts a strong start in this direction, as well as a rich infrastructure for iTunes. The latter allows for quick and easy access to one of the world’s largest libraries of media (music and applications especially) to use it on a wide range of portable and stationary devices.
Company UBS demonstrated depiction of Apple devices ecosystem (see illustration), which shows a range of equipment can be combined into a single system of content consumption. These include the platform for Mac and iPhone, iPad, as well as service sale and rental of audio and video content on iTunes and the app store application store. Soon it is expected that the system of the digital living room “from Apple will fast-track services such as cloud services and social networks.
